Keg Party Math 101

Throwing a keg party can be a blast, but it can also burn a hole in your pocket if not planned properly. Let's face it; throwing a keg party is not a great way to get rich. You're really winning if you break even and everyone (including yourself) has a great time. The trick to throwing a successful keg party is planning. Planning means counting and calculating. That means math. Damn...

Thank goodness for the Keg Wizard web app! This handy little app helps take a lot of the guess work out of keg planning. While not an exact science it does a pretty good job estimating the supplies you'll need for your party based on number of guests and drinking intensity.

A Sneak Peak of What's to Come!

The past few month have been filled with cheer, beer, and learning. Upon reflection we ask ourselves how we came this far, posed to launch a show about all about beer. Well the idea came while drinking some beer, and soon after that great things began to happen.

What exactly have you been waiting for? You can expect us to run a series of beer review episodes in which we feature three beers each episode. Our choice of beers are somewhat guided by the seasons, like many things in life. While what we pick is largely based on what interests us, we are interested in hearing about what beers our viewers would like us to feature. We're happy to have suggestions and hope to do credit to our viewers by replying to popular demands. In the meantime, we're eager to explore and promote many of the emerging craft breweries, both local and remote. There is no mountain high enough, so long as we can have it delivered (this is Drinkin' Beer after all, not Climbin' Mountains!)

On top of our regular review episodes, we'll be touring breweries, visiting beer related events, and exploring places you wouldn't even expect to find beer. There is so much to come!

Channel Launch Approaching

As we are getting closer to filming our first few episodes things are looking bright. Reception in our inner circles has been good, while we have not been sharing most of what we are doing behind the scenes. That is due to change once the content we have is ready to share.

We're hoping that within one month of this post to release our first episode, with many more to follow. In the mean time we are continuing to build the framework for our channel and web presence. 

While things may seem at a crawl, we're gearing up to go full throttle in the very near future, so stay tuned, comment, share, and drink beer!

We have a lot of exciting things happening in the background, but unfortunately until launch there is little activity we can show. To assure you that we're alive and things are happening, we will be posting updates and related content as we march towards our first episode launch.

What exactly can you hope to expect from this show? Entertainment, education, and beer. Lots of beer. Anyone who enjoys beer also knows that not all beer is the same. Some prefer to seek a reliable stable beer, while others enjoy sampling a wide variety of brews to titillate their palettes.

We hope to provide service to both ends of the spectrum. In this golden age of micro-brewing there is so much out there, and we want to help you navigate through the crisp, sudsy waves. We want to help you find that special go-to beer, unlock new lands of flavor, enrich your minds with hoppy facts and have a few laughs along the way. The premise is simple. Each episode we'll feature a few beers and discuss their taste, appearance, availability and so on. While this is a review, we won't be trying so much to rate beers, as flavor is so subjective. We will be honest with our opinions, but encourage our audience to follow their own taste buds. We also hope to help you understand the science of flavor. Expect lab coats and chalk board diagrams!

Picking a beer to review today is like starring into infinity. There are so many varieties to chose. We spend hours trying to figure out which beers to start with. In the end the decision was to jump right in. We are hoping for feedback from you to help guide us on what beers you would like to see featured!

That is just a small taste of what we have in store. We're all looking forward to the days to come and the beer that will be drunk. Cheers!
